How much does a panel upgrade cost in Houston?+
200A service upgrades in single-family homes typically run $2,800–$4,500 depending on meter relocation, riser work, and whether your utility (CenterPoint) needs to drop service. We quote flat-rate after a free in-home assessment, including permit and inspection fees.
My breaker keeps tripping — is it dangerous?+
A breaker doing its job once is normal — that’s the design. A breaker that trips repeatedly on the same circuit is signaling overload, a short, or a ground fault. Don’t keep resetting it. Call. We’ll find the cause in one visit, usually under an hour.
Do you handle the permit, or do I?+
We do, on every job that requires one. Panel changes, service upgrades, new circuits, EV chargers, and generators all need City of Houston (or county) permits. We pull, schedule the inspection, and meet the inspector. You don’t lift a finger.
Will you work on my old aluminum wiring?+
Yes — and we know what we’re doing. Aluminum branch wiring (1965–1973) needs special connectors (CO/ALR-rated or AlumiConn pigtails) and torque specs the average handyman doesn’t bring. We’ll inspect for free and write a remediation plan if needed.
