The Reality
If you've tried chain-spa massage and walked out underwhelmed, you already know.
These are the situations we help Portland customers solve every week.
- →Your shoulders have been knotted for three weeks and the chain-spa hour was 35 minutes of fluffy effleurage and 15 minutes of actual work
- →You're pregnant, your low back is in spasm, and most massage places are 'not really set up' for prenatal work
- →You're an endurance athlete and your IT band needs targeted work, not a relaxation rub
- →You've been to four different massage therapists at four different locations and you can't get consistency on what worked the one time it actually helped
- →Your chiropractor recommended massage as part of your treatment plan and your insurance might cover it but nobody knows how to file the claim
Our Services
What we do.

Service · 01
Deep Tissue & Therapeutic Massage
Targeted deep-tissue work for chronic muscle tension, postural issues, and clinically-prescribed therapeutic massage. Trigger-point release, myofascial release, and neuromuscular techniques applied at the level your body actually responds to — not the chain-spa version that markets 'deep tissue' but delivers Swedish.

Service · 02
Swedish & Relaxation Massage
Classic Swedish massage for stress relief, circulation, and general wellness. Long flowing strokes, kneading, and rhythmic work in a calm therapeutic setting (not a chain-spa rotation room). 60-minute, 90-minute, and 120-minute sessions. Perfect for clients new to massage or wanting a recovery-focused session.

Service · 03
Prenatal & Postnatal Massage
Side-lying prenatal positioning with bolsters, pregnancy-safe pressure and technique, and second-and-third-trimester specialty work. Postnatal massage focuses on shoulder, neck, and lower-back recovery from carrying and feeding. Two of our LMTs are certified in prenatal-specific technique.

Service · 04
Sports & Injury Recovery Massage
Pre-event prep work, post-event recovery, and active-injury rehab in coordination with chiropractor, physical therapist, or sports-medicine MD treatment plans. Common for runners, cyclists, climbers, and team sports. We bill insurance directly for medically-prescribed therapeutic massage when applicable.
The Difference
Why Portland keeps coming back.
Licensed LMTs Only
Every therapist on our team is a Maine-licensed LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) — typically 600+ hours of clinical training plus state licensure exam. Most chain-spa massage providers are not LMTs in the same sense — they're trained to a deliverable, not to clinical competence. The difference shows up in the work.
Same Therapist, Every Session
If you want consistency, we book you with the same therapist every visit. Most clients eventually settle in with a therapist whose work fits their body and stay there. You don't have to re-explain the same chronic shoulder issue every time you book.
Insurance-Billable for Therapeutic Massage
We bill most major Maine insurance carriers for medically-prescribed therapeutic massage when paired with a chiro or PT or MD prescription. We handle the claim filing — most clients pay only their copay or coinsurance, which is often $0–$45 per session.
Evening & Weekend Slots
About 50% of our weekly slots are evening (after 5pm) or Saturday. We staff specifically for working professionals and parents whose 9–5 isn't open. Same-therapist consistency holds across evening and weekend bookings.
Common Questions
You probably want to know.
How much does a session cost?+
60-minute massage: $115. 90-minute: $155. 120-minute: $195. Prenatal session (60 or 90 min): same rate. Sports recovery and therapeutic billed at $115/60min direct-pay or insurance-billed when prescribed. Series packages (3+ sessions) discounted 8–12%.
Does my insurance cover this?+
For medically-prescribed therapeutic massage (chiro, PT, or MD referral), most major Maine insurance carriers cover it under physical-therapy or out-of-network massage benefits. Pure relaxation Swedish typically not covered. We verify your specific benefits before the first session and bill directly when applicable.
Are your therapists certified for prenatal?+
Yes — two of our LMTs are certified in prenatal-specific technique through Educating Hands or DONA International curricula. We use side-lying positioning with appropriate bolsters, pregnancy-safe pressure ranges, and avoid contraindicated techniques. Safe through full pregnancy assuming standard medical clearance.
What's the difference from chain-spa massage?+
Two main differences: clinical training (we hire LMTs only — most chain-spa providers are not), and consistency (you can book the same therapist every time, which lets them actually know your body). Chain-spa is engineered for high-volume rotation; we're built for therapeutic continuity.
Can I book online?+
Yes — full online booking with therapist selection, time selection, and intake-form completion. Same-week booking available for most slots. Evening and weekend slots fill 1–2 weeks ahead. Returning clients get priority booking for their preferred therapist.
Get the massage your body actually responded to. Every time.
Book online with therapist selection. Same-therapist consistency, insurance-billable for therapeutic work, evening and weekend slots, and the kind of clinical-quality bodywork that fixes the issue rather than briefly masking it.
