The Work
What we build.

— 01 · Paver
Paver Patios & Walkways
Concrete pavers, clay pavers, and natural stone in classic European patterns (running bond, herringbone, fan, basket weave). 6 inches of compacted aggregate base, proper edge restraint, polymeric joint sand, and a sealed final passage. Patios that look the same in year 20 as they did in year 1.

— 02 · Retaining
Retaining Walls & Garden Borders
Engineered retaining walls from 18 inches to 12 feet — segmental concrete block, natural stone, and cut Belgian-block solutions. Proper geogrid reinforcement, drainage, and base prep make the difference between a wall that lasts forever and one that fails in 5 years.

— 03 · Outdoor
Outdoor Kitchens & Fire Features
Stacked-stone outdoor kitchen islands with built-in grills, pizza ovens, side burners, and refrigeration. Wood-burning and gas fire pits, fireplaces, and fire tables. Coordinated design with your patio, lighting, and shade structures so the outdoor space reads as a single composition.

— 04 · Driveway
Driveway Pavers & Pool Decks
Heavy-duty 80mm-thick driveway pavers rated for residential vehicle traffic, individually replaceable if a single paver gets damaged. Travertine, limestone, and concrete-paver pool decks with proper drainage, slip-resistant texture, and cool-to-the-touch summer surface.
Every project lead carries Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) certification — the industry standard for paver installation. ICPI specs the base prep, edge restraint, and joint sand standards that prevent the heaving, settling, and weed-sprouting that ruins cheaper installs.

What sets us apart
Why Northern Virginia homeowners trust us with their backyard.
01
ICPI-Certified Installers
Every project lead carries Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) certification — the industry standard for paver installation. ICPI specs the base prep, edge restraint, and joint sand standards that prevent the heaving, settling, and weed-sprouting that ruins cheaper installs.
02
Real Engineered Base, Always
We dig 8–12 inches deep, install non-woven geotextile fabric, layer 6 inches of compacted aggregate base in 2-inch lifts, and verify compaction with a vibratory plate. Cheap installers skip half of this. The base is what makes the difference at year 5, year 10, year 20.
03
Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
Every install carries our written lifetime workmanship warranty. Manufacturer warranties cover product defects (typically 25 years on quality pavers); ours covers the install — base prep, jointing, edge containment, and pattern integrity. Transferable on home sale.
Frequently asked.
How much does a paver patio cost?+
Mid-grade concrete pavers: $24–$36 per square foot installed. Premium clay pavers or natural stone: $36–$58 per square foot. A typical 400 sqft backyard patio with proper base prep lands at $11,000–$24,000. Outdoor kitchens add $14,000–$45,000 depending on appliance package.
How long does the project take?+
Patios typically 1–2 weeks of active work. Retaining walls 1–3 weeks depending on engineering and access. Full backyard transformations with patio + outdoor kitchen + fire feature run 4–8 weeks. We provide written week-by-week schedules at contract signing.
Will it crack through Virginia winters?+
Properly installed pavers don’t crack — they’re individual units that flex with frost heave and settle back into place. Concrete slabs crack because they’re rigid. That’s the structural advantage of pavers in freeze-thaw climates. Our 20-year-old installs look the same today as install day.
What about weeds in the joints?+
We use polymeric jointing sand that hardens between pavers, locks them together, and resists weed germination. Properly installed joints stay clean for 10+ years before any maintenance. We don’t use bagged play sand — that’s why your neighbor’s patio has weeds.
Do you handle permits?+
Yes. We pull permits for retaining walls over 4 feet, walls supporting other structures, and any work in stormwater easements. Patio work usually doesn’t require permits in Fairfax/Loudoun/Arlington Counties, but we verify on every job. Permit costs passed through at city/county fee.
