Why do I need annual descaling?+
Central Oregon water is 8–14 grain hardness. Mineral scale builds up on the heat exchanger and reduces flow rate, efficiency, and lifespan. Skipping descaling typically voids the manufacturer warranty. Most homes need it once a year; very hard water systems twice.
What about high-altitude derating?+
Above 2,000 ft, gas combustion produces less heat per BTU due to thinner air. At 4,000 ft you lose around 20% capacity. Most installers don't compensate; we resize the unit's gas valve and verify combustion with a flue analyzer at install. The result: full rated capacity at your elevation.
